MARKETPLACE III LUND UNIVERSITY
More than half of the worlds population is living in urban areas and the number of single households is increasing year by year. "Marketplace" is a platform for small communities to make them more independent, social, efficient and resource friendly by being able to share goods, knowledge and even skills. Inspired by traditional marketplaces back in the days where people would meet and interact with each other, share and trade goods, skills and kowledge "Marketplace" is a concept to bring Indiviuals together and form small communities by introducing a common space for tenants of multi-family homes, student dorms etc.
The arrangement of tables in various heights ranging from standing height to coffee table height and other elements, such as plug-in cooktops and power outlets, enable residents to do all sorts of activities that might happen trough out the day. Being intended for communal usage, the materials used are in accordance with low maintenance, great durability and high hygenic standards
Marketplace was exhibited at the Furniture fair in Stockholm, Milano and DMY in Berlin where it was part of Lund Universities award winning exhibition "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow"
